About Us — Wanda’s Journey
Owner Wanda Bresette’s journey to open Salt of the Earth.
In 2016, Wanda was diagnosed with emphysema. After discussing her diagnosis with doctors and other healthcare professionals, and faced with a lifetime of steroid medication and inhalers, she decided to seek out a natural, alternative treatment. Through her research, she learned of the benefits of salt therapy and began treatment at the Salt Suite in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
Wanda was so impressed with her results that she decided to spread the word in an effort to help others. But where to start?
She decided to begin by sharing the impact that salt therapy had on her health with family and friends. It turned out that a former neighbor’s brother was in the business of building pink Himalayan salt rooms. A close friend, Julie, was also interested in starting a copper pot foot soak spa service. When Wanda began looking around for a possible home for this new project, 422 Akron Ave. in Stuart popped up. And when word got to her that two massage therapists were also looking for new homes, Wanda knew she had to make this dream into a reality.
In spring of 2017, construction began:
In August 2017, Wanda opened Salt of the Earth Halotherapy & Spa as part of her journey to educate people about the benefits of salt therapy, and to provide access to this therapeutic treatment to those in Stuart and surrounding areas.
Since opening, we’ve helped clients alleviate their symptoms of everything from anxiety to severe COPD. We’ve had so many amazing guests walk through our doors—from locals to those traveling from all over the US and even from abroad. And most of all, we’ve been so fortunate to be a part of the Stuart wellness community. There are so many wonderful, talented practitioners in our area, and making connections and helping people on their wellness journey is what makes our city special.
As we celebrate 7 years in 2024, our passion for wellness continues to grow. Wanda of Salt of the Earth, Julie of The Temple Foot Sanctuary, and massage therapists Tiffany, Chelsea, Leigh and Linda, are all here to help you on your wellness journey at Salt of the Earth Halotherapy & Spa.
